澳门心水论坛’s sociology degree program introduces students to the real-world aspects of social work and social justice through a wide range of courses.

With a focus on how social and cultural forces impact behavior, students seeking a Bachelor of Arts or Science in Sociology study topics such as poverty, racial and gender inequality, deviance, food insecurity, and mental health.

Students who graduate with a Bachelor of Arts or Science in Sociology are positioned to attend graduate school in sociology or social work, or to work in social/human services field immediately after they graduate. This includes working for non-profit community organizations that help alleviate social problems. 

Students must take 30 hours in their major field of study, 27 of which must be upper division.

While pursuing a major in sociology, students will take courses like Social Problems, Individual and Society, Introduction to Social Work, Case Management, and Cultural Diversity. Students will also fulfill a practicum that includes supervised field experience with community agencies, emphasizing integration of theory and practice in social work.
